In April, you nominated 54 individuals as ALL Stars — Avon Schools employees who embody our mission: ALL belong, learn, and grow. Meet this month's ALL Stars.
The Avon High School Speech Team won the school's first ever Speech State Championship this spring and three individual competitors won State Championships. The Avon Board of School Trustees issues Resolutions of Commendation for each feat at their April 11 meeting.
At their April 11 meeting, the Avon Board of School Trustees recognized the State Championships won by three DECA participants with a Resolution of Commendation, the highest honor they can issue.
Avon High School sophomore Giselle Long is having breakout success on the rugby pitch and she's receiving attention for her exploits. She has been scouted by US Rugby and she'll travel Europe this summer as a member of Eagle Impact Rugby Academy.
The Avon Education Foundation Monte Carlo Night will be held on April 27. This event is SOLD OUT, but you can still support the mission by bidding in the silent auction and volunteering before or during the event.
On April 10-12, 20 of Avon High School's Project Lead The Way Biomedical Science students attended the Indiana State HOSA Leadership Conference. Two students placed first, two placed second, two placed third, and multiple students finished in the top 10 in their disciplines.
Recently, Dr. Wyndham had a conversation with two clarinetists from the AHS Band. Betty Barding was a member of the first Avon Band and graduated in 1954. Abbi Churchill plays clarinet in the Marching Black and Gold and Indoor Winds and will graduate this May.
The Avon World Guard earned the highest score ever given at the WGI Scholastic World Class Championship. Their performance, Voila had to be seen to be believed.
Avon Schools has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. This is our ninth award in the last 10 years.
For $10, families can purchase a sign that will be displayed in front of the school buildings with messages of appreciation. The proceeds and encouragement will benefit Avon educators.
What were you doing during the total solar eclipse on April 8? Avon High School Teacher Lauren Patton had an experience she'll never forget. She and her fiancé Alex Bradshaw tied the knot. Their ceremony got national attention.
Avon High School juniors and seniors had the opportunity to participate in a Career Fair last Wednesday, and it was a huge success. More than 70 local businesses and locations participated.
The Indiana Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers held their annual conference recently and two Avon High School Physics Teachers earned well-deserved recognition.
The Avon Board of School Trustees is one of only two Indiana school boards to earn the 2023 Exemplary Governance Award. This award recognizes their outstanding commitment to professional learning and student success.
This summer, Michael McKinney will become the next Principal at Avon Middle School North. He will fill the role vacated by Matt Hines when he assumes his new role as our Director of Secondary Teaching & Learning.
